Our academic calendar is carefully designed to ensure comprehensive coverage of pulmonary medicine through multiple complementary formats — from bedside teaching to simulation labs.

Core Lectures

Structured didactic lectures covering the full breadth of pulmonary medicine. Presented by attending consultants or fellows. Topics follow the annual didactic schedule with dedicated faculty supervision.

Weekly case-based conference where fellows and faculty bring challenging, interesting, or educational cases from the past week for group discussion, differential diagnosis, and learning.

SEEK Board Review & OSCE

Weekly board-style review focusing on a specific pulmonary topic, paired with an OSCE-style assessment. Designed to prepare fellows for board examinations while reinforcing clinical knowledge.

Combined critical care educational activity teams. Topics selected to avoid overlap with other sessions, emphasizing team-based critical care.

Joint Didactics

Weekly academic collaboration and shared classroom learning—such as lectures, journal clubs, or case reviews—where fellows and consultants from different hospitals gather together and discuss topics, for now we have a combined session with Jordan University Hospital.

Lung Multidisciplinary Conference (MDC)

Lung tumor board and multidisciplinary conference uniting pulmonology, thoracic oncology, radiology, , thoracic surgery and other teams for complex case discussion and treatment planning.

Journal Club / Case Presentations

📆 4th Tuesday · Alternating months (Sep, Nov, Jan, Mar, May, Jul) · 8–9 AM

Alternating monthly format — one month is dedicated to journal club (critical appraisal of recent literature), the next to case presentations. Led by a fellow, supervised by a consultant.

📆 Quarterly · 1st Monday of Sep, Dec, Mar, Jun · 8–9 AM

Quarterly review of interesting and educational ABGs, CT scans, CXRs, polysomnograms, PFTs, and bronchoscopy findings. Presented by a fellow for group analysis and learning. A favorite among trainees.

Guidelines Review

📆 Every 2 months · 1st or 2nd Thursday · 8–9 AM

Systematic review and summarization of the latest international pulmonary guidelines — GINA, GOLD, IDSA, ATS, and others. Presented by a fellow and supervised by a consultant faculty member.

Lung POCUS & Simulation

📆 Bi-monthly · Thursdays · 2:00 – 4:00 AM · Supervised by Dr. Naser

Hands-on simulation sessions covering POCUS, endotracheal intubation, inhalational challenge (PFT), diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, percutaneous tracheostomy, ECHO, EBUS, CPET, sleep studies,Advanced airway management and other clinical scenarios.
